25th September - 2nd October. Settling in.

So hopefully things are going to improve a little, he had the physio out on Monday...was rather sore which would explain his funny turn a few week backs. Glad I haven't been riding him.
So all treated and ready to rumble, although my tack had gone mouldy so that needs a clean! Rode him briefly this evening with quite a few others in the school, I felt like I wad sat on a time bomb ready to explode. Few leaps in the air and he cracked on with the job eventually. Little terd. Love him all the same!
He's starting to settle into his new home better. Moved paddocks and has gone into his winter routine which seems to be suiting him better.
Some good news, Lisa, my other half, is getting a pony on loan. Lovely little 14hh chestnut mare who's done lots of hacking and had potential to improve in the school, quite a little mover! So Adam will now have something to hold his hoof through life. He needs confidence building with hacking again. I have no idea where I'm going down here, and the fords are not our strong point. Then the other bonus is, he will have someone to go out with and someone to come in with. Although it's getting darker and darker during our walk to the field, so some head torches need to be purchased I feel!
So fingers crossed for little zizzle to settle in and have some fun.

Our new school!

Adam schooling, Flying change

First dressage test video

8th July - 25th September. Dressage comp and new saddle.

So, I have been so so slack with updating my blog. I have recently got married and moved house, so as you can imagine i havent had huge amounts of time! But all over now so i can concentrate on life again!

Alot has happened in the past few months, we went to our first dressage competition and came first in our first class and 2nd in the other with marks in the early 70's. Never has he been so relaxed in a dressage test so I'm mega mega chuffed! Very different to how he used to behave back a few years back, we used to show the judge an awful lot of rein back and our belly button! It was never his fortae. He would get tense about being on his own, which i guess triggered the pain in his back and then he'd go nuts. So as you can probably imagine, i was very very nervous. But after finding out i'd won my first class, i just broke down into tears with happiness. Its been a long old year!!

Tried to upload a video but its massive, Ill do it another day :)

As i mentioned earlier, i have recently moved house which meant moving him again. Im now living in cornwall and I managed to reserve a space for him at a livery yard just 3 mins down the road from my new house.
It has a lovely indoor school, individual turnout, outdoor school, and beautiful hacking.

Since we have moved to Cornwall, I have finally managed to find him a new saddle. He's always had dressage saddles as i never ever jumped him due to his foul attitude towards it before his op. So had a fabulous master saddler out to see him (Ray Hinton) and he fitted a lovely brown GP to him. Which i might say myself, looks very very smart!!

Our first downfall though, he bucked on the lunge the other week and has tweaked his back, so we are now waiting for the physio so come (yet again) to fix him.
after a £100 vet bill. Nice one Ads...

Only a brief one, over and out x

29th June - 8th July. Perfect pony!

I think i can safely say, i pretty much have a perfect pony!

I can point him out the drive and he goes, I steer him into a field and he walks in calmly, he trots off when i ask him to and canters politely when asked.

I'm finding it hard to fault him! I'm having the most relaxing time hacking him out, I have learnt to be more patient with him and teach him that turning around is not an option. He turns around, i turn him back again and make him stand there on a loose rein until he chills his beans. He stops, i get my phone out and send a text until he decides to walk off again. The worst thing i can do with him is fight! It really does seem to work! So texting is my saviour!

He also had the physio this week, who seems to be happy with his progress. Just a tiny bit saddle sore, but nothing that couldnt be resolved! I'm looking into getting a GP so i can start to hopefully take off from the ground ag
ain with him. i physically cannot wait!!!

A few photos from this week. Very hot and very sunny! But lovely enjoying the evenings!

Ah yes! and we managed a clean flying change today, first attempt! Very clever pony!
